Introducing SS13 The Idyllic Hour

It started on the hour. Any ordinary hour with just a single sunbeam filtering though the leaves that I knew would eventually break through the haze.

He asked me to walk with him. He wanted to show me the city but I had seen it all before. He told me I hadn’t seen it with him and I thought he was a cliché. He told me this city was perfect and I believed him. How could I not?

He asked me if I was too busy. I told him I was but I would make an exception. We started walking. I saw the city spread out and become too big. I felt unadorned in the middle of something so vast. He told me to look beyond the obvious and I did.

That single sunbeam began to pierce my eyes and I felt something shift in me. Night began to fall and the hazy sky turned to rain. It was over as quickly as it began but it changed my mind about everything.

SS13 – The Idyllic Hour explores the love that we have for each other, the cities that we live in and how everything shapes us to be the people that we are.

The Idyllic Hour is inspired by all that is around us and al l that we are........

Columbia Flower Markets

If you're looking for a lovely place to wander on a Sunday morning in London, look no further than the Columbia Flower Markets in East London.

A pretty street full of vendors selling the freshest blooms from exotic wild flowers to simple bunches of daisies and carnations. The smell of herbs and lilies is pleasantly mixed with handmade bakery treats and fresh coffee from the nearby cafes.

Tiny art galleries selling gorgeous works from local artists and old fashioned lolly and stationary stores mean the morning is lazily whittled away as you wander from store to store.

An absolute joy that I will visit again & again.....

Milk & White Chocolate Mud Cake

For my boyfriend birthday this year, I made a cake that I had wanted to make for a while! It’s a sugary treat of tastiness smothered in milk chocolate.....

Try it - you won't be disappointed!

250g butter
150g white chocolate
440g caster sugar
250ml milk
225g plain flour
75g self-raising flour
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
2 eggs
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
600g Belgium milk chocolate
250ml cream

Combine butter, sugar, white chocolate & milk in a saucepan. Cool for 15 minutes & once melted, mix in sifted flours & eggs. Pour half of the mixture into a prepared cake tin. Add cocoa to the other half or the mixture and poured this into a 2nd tin.

Cook for an hour at 160 degrees.

Combine milk chocolate & cream in a saucepan and allow this to cool so it becomes a spreadable consistency.

When the cakes are cooked and cooled, slice both cakes in half then layer with the chocolate mixture.

Eat it & enjoy!
